I was always interested in the medical world, intrigued by intricate details of the human body and fascinated by its complexity. An holistic approach to healing musculo-skeletal issues is what lead me to a career in massage therapy. Through this journey in life as an RMT, I am grateful for the discovery of the mind-body-spirit connection and how all three depend on each other for a balanced, healthy existence. It has been very rewarding for me to see how massage therapy can have a positive impact on this connection.
Since graduating from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 1996, I have enjoyed a general practice, treating various soft tissue conditions arising from injuries and strain, postural imbalances and stress. Since 2017, I have had an interest in treating digestive concerns as well as women’s health issues such as painful periods with menstrual cramps and associated low back or hip pain, bladder incontinence, and frequent urinary tract infections. The structures within the abdominal and pelvic regions of the body are often overlooked as sources of dysfunction felt elsewhere in the body.
I look forward to seeing you in the clinic and being actively involved in your quest for continued good health.
Diane Resetar, RMT
My first exposure to massage therapy was due to chronic low back pain. After seeing first hand, the benefits I had received, I decided on a career change in 1995 and graduated from West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 1997. I have been practicing massage therapy in the Kitsilano community ever since.
I treat a wide variety of patient issues, such as headaches, whiplash, postural dysfunction, stress related ailments, repetitive strain injuries, piriformis syndrome, plantar fasciitis, to name but a few.
My goal for my patients is to help facilitate the healing process using a number of hands on techniques, which may include, trigger point release, Swedish massage, deep tissue therapy, fascial release, joint mobilizations & passive stretch. Treatments do differ from patient to patient and depend greatly on the particular ailments and needs of the individual. I am also an advocate for preventative measures with a proactive approach through patient education, in order to maximize the benefits of the treatment process.
Over the past decade, there has been a significant rise in the demand for massage therapy in BC. This can be attributed to higher educational standards, research studies showing the benefits of massage therapy, and an increase in public awareness and demand for non surgical, drug-free treatment options.
I welcome you to discover how massage therapy can help you achieve your health and wellness goals.
Michelle Yu, RMT
I graduated from the Canadian College of Massage Therapy in 2005, and have been at Aurora Massage Therapy Clinic for over 10 years. I recognize how every body is different, and presents a unique response to injury, pain and healing. I have experience treating a variety of conditions such as acute or chronic pain related to soft tissue injuries, overuse injuries, postural dysfunction, stress and anxiety reduction.
I’m happy to help you discover how massage therapy can be a part of your self care plan.
